The company made thousands of guitars over the coming decades, with many being mid-quality copies of Fender and Gibson designs. The Hondo company started in 1969, and quickly began a partnership with Samick in Korea. Tokai did not build guitars in Korea until around 2000 but there is almost solid proof below that the Revival H935 was made in Korea in the Fame H935 section.

However, having referenced all Hondo Revival H935 serial numbers I can find with the information at the Tokai Registry, every number matches. Here we have a Hondo H935, inspired by a classic design and in a classy walnut finish. Serial numbers can be found at the following locations. The M-16 is not as high quality as the Longhorns but cool looking. 2 Longhorn 6, 2 Longhorn 4/8 Bass, 1 Longhorn 6/12 and 1 M-16. The only identification on it is a small metal plate on the front face of the head that reads MELODY (in all caps). He had it as long as I can remember and I was born in 1964. We are fairly certain of its model, approximate age, and country of origin based mostly on comps and dedicated researchers in the online community. Hondo was founded by Jerry Freed and Tommy Moore in 1969 with the aim to produce guitars in Korea. It is difficult to determine anything certainly about this guitars origin, as aside from the headstock logo, it is missing any and all stickers or labels. This is one such instrument, made roughly in the early ‘80s and likely in Korea.
